In 2012, Universal Mates Limited was founded with a primary objective of providing the construction industry with labour only services related to drylining, suspended ceilings, taping and jointing, and plastering, with its specialised focus in these areas, we were able to develop a reputation as a skilled and reliable resource.


Due to the success of the companies’ primary object, in 2018 the company directors made the strategic decision to expand their offerings to include the supply of both materials and labour on a subcontract basis. This decision was taken provide a comprehensive service to our clients, which would enable them to cater to a wider range of needs in the construction industry. With this expansion, we have been able to streamline our operations and further enhance our reputation as a trusted and reliable partner in the industry.


Since 2018 the company directors have work tirelessly to improve company policies and procedures which has cumulated with our accreditation to CHAS and IFC. These accreditations are a testament to our dedication to providing a safe and effective solutions for our clients. As a result we are recognised as a contractor that can be trusted to deliver high quality work, while maintaining the highest of standards for Health & Safety and passive fire protection.

The project consisted of 5 separate phases on a tight site close to the city centre with a mixture of new build and conversion of an existing building and extension. Due to the nature of the site we required a lot of co-ordination and planning with both the main contractor and subcontractors which was fantastic throughout.
